“Music is nothing unless it fills your soul with colour and passion and dreams“
An emotionally charged story of music, abuse and, ultimately, hope.
Beck hates his life. He hates his violent mother. He hates his home. Most of all, he hates the piano that his mother forces him to play hour after hour, day after day. He will never play as she did before illness ended her career and left her bitter and broken. But Beck is too scared to stand up to his mother, and tell her his true passion, which is composing his own music – because the least suggestion of rebellion on his part ends in violence.
When Beck meets August, a girl full of life, energy and laughter, love begins to awaken within him and he glimpses a way to escape his painful existence. But dare he reach for it?
I can only pray that @paperfury, Cait (QUEEN👑 of the art of pain-giving) can see this photo and read my heart-felt thanks for her debut book. I’ve honestly been searching a book about music for a long time.
This book is everything, it’s dark, it’s haunting, it’s light in darkness. Beck is the midnight sky while August is the SUN (yes, sun. Not moon. SUN) that shines in the dark sky. I died at least a thousand times. Heck! My first death was the first line. I absolutely cannot wait for your next book!
“Sharing music is personal because music speaks, it feels, it breathes. And it always says something about you.”My heart T^T
Your book actually reminded me of an anime my friend highly recommended me to watch. I don’t watch anime but after her consistent persuading I watched it and fell in love. I wished that someone wrote a book in that theme and YOU DID! The anime is called “Your Lie in April”, it did serious damage to my heart. You will love it. It stars two teenagers, a male pianist prodigy and a female violinist.
Highly recommended to ANYONE who enjoyed A Thousand Perfect Notes 🦋💕 It is also a real life adaptation now!!
“Chocolate is a substance worth existing for. “
Thank you for this amazing read✨ A Thousand Perfect Notes will leave readers on the high note after finishing, they will want chocolate cake, a Beck AND August of their own.
